It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 9th December 2020 of ex PC Alan Burton, 72 years, from Cancer.  His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Barbara Mary Burton.  Alan retired in 1997 have served in Alfreton and Ripley.

His funeral, which will be a private family service, will take place on the 29th December 2020 at Amber Valley Crematorium.

​It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Sunday 20th December 2020 of ex Superintendent 727 Derek Walters, 83 years, after a long illness.  His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Iris Walters.

Derek retired in 1993 whilst Supt in Professional Standards HQ. He served at Clay Cross, Belper, Matlock, and Buxton.  He was for many years Head of Special Branch.

His funeral will be held at 11.00am on Wednesday 13th January 2021 at Amber Valley Crematorium, Swanwick.

Due to current restrictions Derek's cremation will be by invitation only. The crematorium has asked people not to gather outside due to current Covid regulations and there will be no access to the proceedings. Derek's family apologise if you cannot pay your respects in the way you would like to. To enable friends and family to watch the Service, a livestream will be available.

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Monday 30th November 2020 of ex Insp 663 William (aka Bill) Arthur DRING, 89 years.  Bill was not a NARPO member.  His next of kin is his wife Mrs Betty Dring.

Bill retired in 1984, whilst an acting Chief Inspector, he served in Matlock CID and Derby West.

His funeral service will be held at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby, at 3.20pm on Wednesday 23rd December 2020.  Restrictions apply due to the pandemic.

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Saturday 28th November 2020, at home of ex PC 372 Clive MILLER, 76 years. His next of kin is his wife Norah Miller. Clive has been living with Vascular dementia for the last three years

Clive joined the Police in 1971 and retired in 1999, serving mainly in the Chesterfield area.
