It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Friday 27th November 2020 of ex Sgt 117? Norman ARROWSMITH, 92 years (B.23.9.28) from Covid 19 at Loxley Park Assisted Living Home, Sheffield where he had lived since 2019. Norman was living with Dementia and was very poorly in the last few months and succumbed to Covid in the last few days since being diagnosed. Norman was a widower, his wife Jean passed away last year. His next of kin is his Brother in Law, Brian Cork.
Norman joined the Derby Borough Police in 1948 after completing his National Service. He served mainly in Derby and Road Traffic and Driving School. He retired in 1983 and moved to Wainfleet near Skegness with Jean. His funeral will be held at 1.00pm on Thursday 17th December 2020 at the North Chapel, Grenoside Crematorium, Skew Hill Lane, Sheffield S35 8RZ. Covid restrictions are in place. It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 5th November, 2020 from Covid 19 of ex PC 126 Adam BENTLEY (born Borkowski), 95 years. He leaves his wife Jean Bentley, who suffers from Alzheimer’s. Both lived at the Limes Residential Home, Mickleover, where they both contracted Covid, he succumbed because of his failing health but Jean managed to survive. His next of kin is his daughter Mrs Gillian Higton. His funeral took place on the 24th November 2020.
Adam who was born in Poland, joined the Polish Air Force, came to England and was stationed at Hucknall, Notts. He became a Police Officer joining the Derby Borough Police after the Second World War. He was stationed at Buxton and Derby, serving on Traffic, Driving School and Road Safety. He retired in 1978 and joined Derby Council as Road Safety Officer. He was a long time member of the International Police Association (IPA) and was a member of the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO). He was awarded Life Membership for his services as a Committee Member of our branch. Kathleen was the widow of PC Terence Galliford (died 2006) of the Underwater Search Unit. Her next of kin is her daughter Tracey Prescott

His next of kin is his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Swain. Ian retired in July 1995 having served in C Division and latterly at Bolsover.
His funeral has been arranged for 11.00am on Wednesday 18th November 2020 at Chesterfield Crematorium, Chesterfield Road, Brimington, Chesterfield S43 1AU. Sean Murphy (Secretary) It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Graham Wilcoxson, aged 70 years, a retired Police Officer. Graham died on Monday 12 October 2020. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. A book of Condolence has been placed on our website. His funeral was held today at Amber valley Memorial Park Crematorium. Graham joined the Derbyshire Police in 1974 and transferred to Nottingham Police shortly after completing his probation service. He served at Hucknall, Eastwood Force Headquarters and Central before retiring in 2004. His collar number was PC 1750 |
