Norman took me for my advanced driver course in 1972. Still remember the ruler and sore knuckles. He did a good job though because I got a 1 and we had some really good laughs. I can still remember his pet phrases and so can my daughter as I used them with her when I taught her to drive and also some Institute of Advanced Motorists who I coached. Top man and will be sadly missed..

Working in Training School in the late 70's I was in the next office to Norman in Driving School. We car-shared to work; by the time we arrived I would be aching with laughter. A lovely bloke who truly looked like a Bobby.
