It with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Tuesday 19th September 2023, peacefully at home from Lung Cancer of retired Constable 1314 Max BARN, 67yrs. His next of kin is his daughter Mrs Pauline Padden.
Max joined the Derbyshire Police in 1983 following service in the Royal Marines which saw him involved in active service in The Falkland Islands conflict and in Northern Ireland. He served in Buxton Division, mainly at Chapel-en-le-Frith where he was a well known and loved character. He was involved in a serious road traffic collision at work while driving a response car in 1989 and retired on ill health a few years later. Since leaving the Police Service Max worked in the Care Sector and was also involved with the rehabilitation of offenders. His funeral will take place at 12.30pm on Thursday 28th September 2023 at St Thomas Becket Church, Market Place, Chapel-en-le-Frith. A cremation service for close friends and family will follow at Macclesfield Crematorium. There will be a wake after the service at Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club. All are welcome. It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 24th August 2023 of ex PC Grahame HIBBERT, 88 years, of Buxton peacefully at home. He had a partner, Beth Jackson, of the same address, who is frail and bed ridden. His next of kin is his son Andrew Hibbert
He retired in about 1984, having served at Buxton in uniform and CID. He then trained as a welder and a few years later became a security guard for Otter. He was well known and liked. His funeral took place at 12 noon on Monday 18th September 2023 at Buxton Cemetery. Her next of kin is her husband John Cremin.
Joyce's funeral has been arranged for 2.10pm on Friday 6th October 2023 at Chesterfield and District Crematorium, Brimington, Chesterfield S41 1AU. His next of kin is his daughter Jo Nicholls.
Jess retired in about 1998 having served in Matlock, Derby, Alfreton and finally at Force Headquarters, mainly in CID. He suffered with Parkinsons for the last few years..
