It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Mrs Sharon Delia COWLEY-BOOKER wife of ex PC 478 John Cowley-Booker. Sharon passed away on the 30th April 2021, nine days after her 60th Birthday and after a 3 year battle with Cancer. John is her next of kin.

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 8th February 2020 of Mrs Doreen Joan APPLEGATE 96 years, peacefully at the Cedar Tree Care Home, Derby. Doreen was the widow of Pc Ron Applegate BEM, who was a baritone soloist in Derbyshire Police Male Voice Choir. Doreen’s next of kin is her son, David Applegate. The funeral has already taken place. We have only just been informed of her passing.
Sean Murphy (Secretary) It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death, on Friday 7th May 2021 of Mrs Jean Brenda CRANE, 89 years. Brenda as she was known passed away peacefully at Grove House residential home in Ashover. Brenda was the widow of PC 650 Derek Crane. Her next of kin is her daughter, Louise Lennox.
Her funeral has been arranged for 11.00am on Thursday 27th May 2021 at St. Martin's Church, Church Street, Alfreton DE55 7AH, followed by cremation at The Amber Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium, Derby Road, Swanwick DE55 1BH at 12.00 noon. Sean Murphy (Secretary) It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death the 3rd May 2021 of ex Sgt 500 John Derek KILLINGSLEY-SMITH, 82 years, after a short illness. His next of kin is his wife Mrs. Kathleen (Kate) Dora Killingsley-Smith. Derek as he was known joined Derbyshire Police after his National Service in the Grenadier Guards. He served in Derby, Ripley, Alfreton and Chesterfield. Retiring on ill health after being assaulted at Chesterfield Football Ground, in about 1990/91. He later became Head of Security at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. He was a member of the IPA (International Police Association) for 50 years. As soon as I know of the funeral arrangements I will update you. His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Kathleen (Kath) Harrison.
Peter retired in 2005 having served at Eckington, Glossop, Chapel en le Frith and New Mills. Prior to joining the Police he served in the Merchant Navy for 15 years.
