It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 8th February 2020 of Mrs Doreen Joan APPLEGATE 96 years, peacefully at the Cedar Tree Care Home, Derby. Doreen was the widow of Pc Ron Applegate BEM, who was a baritone soloist in Derbyshire Police Male Voice Choir. Doreen’s next of kin is her son, David Applegate. The funeral has already taken place. We have only just been informed of her passing.

Doreen was a lovely lady who always supported and often accompanied her late husbsnd Ron in his numerous musical exploits. I had the privelidge of meeting her on numerous occasions. Memories of shows with Ron and after show get togethers with Doreen and Ron are treasured memories. Sleep well Doreen. A lovely life well lived.
