It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death, at home, on the 20th August 2022 of Mrs Margaret Elizabeth WHITWORTH, 80 years, after a short illness. Her next of kin is her husband ex C/Insp. 164 Peter Whitworth.
Members will probably remember Margaret as she worked the Canteen at Headquarters and Alfreton and relieved at Cotton Lane, for many years. She also worked in Headquarters Bar. As per Margaret’s instructions there will be no funeral, as this will be by Direct Cremation. Sean Murphy (Secretary)

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Mrs Anne COLPUS, 83 years wife of ex C/Insp Ivor Colpus, after a long battle with Cancer but peacefully at Kings Mill Hospital, on Friday 12th August 2022. Her next of kin is her husband ex C/Insp Ivor Colpus.
Ivor retired in 1987 as Chief Inspector of the Derbyshire Police Training School. I will update you with the funeral arrangements when known. Sean Murphy (Secretary) It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 3rd August 2022, after being diagnosed with cancer of ex PC 196 Bernard BONSER, 87 years. His next of kin is his partner of 12 years, Mrs Sheila Sorrell.
Bernard joined the Derbyshire Police in 1955 having served his National Service in the Grenadier Guards. I believe he served mainly in the Chesterfield area. He retired in 1982. He moved to Essex after the death of his wife in 2009. His funeral has been arranged for 2.30pm on Thursday 1st September 2022 at the Three Counties Crematorium, Halstead Road, High Garrett, Braintree, Essex CM7 5PB. Sean Murphy (Secretary)  It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 4th August 2022, after a fall in Hospital following a routine procedure for Cancer, of Mrs Cheryl WAGSTAFFE (RUSH), 73 years, widow of Sgt 1033 Brian Rush. Cheryl lived at Dornoch, Scotland. Cheryl’s next of kin is her daughter Ms Katie Wagstaffe.
Brian Rush who served at Buxton passed away in 2015 and Cheryl was a Comms Aide at Buxton Police Station from 1985 to 1996. I will update you when I know the funeral arrangements. Sean Murphy (Secretary) |
