It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 3rd August 2022, after being diagnosed with cancer of ex PC 196 Bernard BONSER, 87 years. His next of kin is his partner of 12 years, Mrs Sheila Sorrell.
Bernard joined the Derbyshire Police in 1955 having served his National Service in the Grenadier Guards. I believe he served mainly in the Chesterfield area. He retired in 1982. He moved to Essex after the death of his wife in 2009. His funeral has been arranged for 2.30pm on Thursday 1st September 2022 at the Three Counties Crematorium, Halstead Road, High Garrett, Braintree, Essex CM7 5PB. Sean Murphy (Secretary)

Not sure if it is the same Bernard Bonser who worked on my shift in the seventies from Full St P.S in Derby. His patch was Spondon and I regularly covered for him when he was on holiday. I remember that he was a stalwart of the DerbyPolice Choir. A great guy. R.I.P.
