It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Wednesday 30th November 2022, whilst in his Care Home, of ex Insp 725 Michael BOWN, 79 years. His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Janet Bown. Unfortunately Janet is in Hospital at the moment awaiting an operation. In the circumstances the next of kin who also has Power of Attorney is Mick’s sister Mrs Jeanette Carter.
Mick as he was known joined Derbyshire Police as a Cadet. On joining the Police he served at Alfreton, Derby West CID Special Branch and Crime Bureau retiring as Inspector in 1995. He then worked for Rolls Royce Aerospace as deputy head of Security, retiring in 2011/12. Mick’s funeral has been arranged for 12.00nn on Friday 23rd December 2022 at Dale Hill Natural Burial; Ground, Dale Road, Ockbrook, Nr Derby DE72 3RY. Sean Murphy (Secretary)

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 28th November 2022, in Hospital, after a short illness, of ex Insp 26 Richard (Dick) Henry SMITH, 86 years. His next of kin, is his wife Mrs. Eileen Marjorie Smith.
Dick as he was known joined the Derby Borough Police Cadets, aged 17 years. He then did his National Service with the RAF Police and re-joined the Police after his National Service. He served mainly in Derby, CID and at Belper. He was attached to the Nottinghamshire Crime Squad. He retired in 1987 and then worked for Pinder’s Solicitors, Derby. His funeral has been arranged for 12.30pm., Wednesday, 4th January, 2023, in the Main Chapel at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby.. Sean Murphy (Secretary) |
