It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 28th November 2022, in Hospital, after a short illness, of ex Insp 26 Richard (Dick) Henry SMITH, 86 years. His next of kin, is his wife Mrs. Eileen Marjorie Smith.
Dick as he was known joined the Derby Borough Police Cadets, aged 17 years. He then did his National Service with the RAF Police and re-joined the Police after his National Service. He served mainly in Derby, CID and at Belper. He was attached to the Nottinghamshire Crime Squad. He retired in 1987 and then worked for Pinder’s Solicitors, Derby. His funeral has been arranged for 12.30pm., Wednesday, 4th January, 2023, in the Main Chapel at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby.. Sean Murphy (Secretary)
