Sid’s briefing at Beetwell Street for the Milk Race circa late 80’s/1990 was as entertaining as it was informative. Certainly the highlight of a typically mundane day.
In truth that was as close as I came to working with him in the job but significant enough for me to remember it to this day.
His affable nature went with him to Slack’s Coaches where our paths crossed several times.
RIP Sid.

A true gentleman and a very fair driving examiner who always put you at ease whilst on test. Sadly missed when he left the Force Driving School and a credit to the Police Service.
RIP Sid.

Sid was an exemplar for police driving. As Colin Parker says he was a 'true gentleman'. If you knew him you would like him as he had such a warm presence and always had time for you.
