![]() It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 30th April 2022 of ex PC 1408 Robert Thomas GLOVER, 70 years after a short stay in Old Lodge Care Home, Etwall. His next of kin is his daughter Claire Glover. Bob as he was known was living with Vascular Dementia and being cared for by his daughter Claire. His wife, Christine Lesley Glover pre deceased him in 2018. Bob joined the Police in October 1979 after his Naval career as a Naval Regulator ( Navy Police) until his retirement in July 2008. He served mainly in Derby and was a Gaoler for a long time and his wife was the Police matron. On retirement he worked as a civilian in the Crime Management Unit at HQ. His funeral will take place at 1.30pm on Monday 30th May 2022 at Trent Valley Crematorium, Derby Road, Aston on Trent, Derby DE72 2AF. Floral tributes welcomed or donations may be left in the collection box at the service and will be forwarded to the Old lodge Nursing Home. Following the service, light refreshments will be served at The Coopers Arms, Weston on Trent, Derby DE72 2BJ Sean Murphy (Secretary)

So sad to hear of the passing of my old Charge Office / Cell block oppo Bob. It was pleasure to work with both him and his dear late wife Christine. You will both be much missed.

Well remember Bob as a fellow regulator in the Navy and when we joined the Police we met again and swopped some great sea stories....what a lovely bloke who has "crossed the bar" Sincere condolences to his family
