It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 8th December 2022, after a short illness at Derby Royal Hospital of ex C/Insp (164) Peter WHITWORTH,81yrs .
Peter’s wife, Margaret only passed away on the 20th August, 2022. His next of kin is his son, Paul Whitworth. Peter joined the Derbyshire Police as a Cadet in 1957 and as a Police Constable serving in Ripley, Matlock and at Police Headquarters retiring in 1995 as Chief Inspector. On retiring from the Police he worked for Derbyshire County Council as an Area Supervisor for the School Crossing Service. Peter’s funeral was held at 4.00pm on Thursday, 29th December, 2022, at Amber Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium, Derby Road, Swanwick, Alfreton DE55 1BH.
