I went to Pannal Ash Training School in 1972 with Pete. Always good for a laugh. A good natured bloke. We sadly lost touch over the years and always seemed to be stationed at opposite sides of the County.

Nice bloke Pete. A dry sense of humour and didn’t suffer fools gladly.

Pete was great colleague, much respected. I seem to recall him catching a burglar coming out of a club at Bolsover when we used to do the twice nightly Night Log checks of property. Much kudos! But of course that was no doubt one of many arrests. RIP Peter

Very sad to hear this news. I started at Staveley December 1979 and Pete was my tutor bobby for a week before he moved to 'B' Division, he was starting his dog handling career. Our first shift was a 2 - 10pm and about one hour into the shift we (well Pete) arrested a man for burglary. Rarely had any contact with him after that but remember that incident clearly. RIP Pete.
