Michael John DUDLEY

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death yesterday, 24/06/2022 of ex PC 1326 Michael John DUDLEY, 73 years, after a long illness. His wife Jean predeceased him in 2014. His next of kin is his daughter Amanda Dudley.

Michael joined the Derbyshire Police in 1971 when he was allocated shoulder number 395. He resigned in 1977 but re-joined in 1979, when he was allocated shoulder number 1326. He served at Chesterfield, Bakewell and on Matlock Traffic until he retired on ill health in 1989, when he was diagnosed with Cancer. Since November, 2021 he has been in the care of Ashgate Hospice until his passing.

As per his wishes, he is to have a Direct Cremation with the Co-op Funeralcare, Chesterfield so there will no funeral service.

73 is far too young.

I worked with John at Chesterfield when he first joined. He was a great bloke to work with and also really knew how to socialise. Lost touch shortly afterwards.
A big loss. Sincere condolences to his family
