It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on 6th February 2023 of retired Police Sergeant 101 Leslie OLDHAM, 96yrs. He passed away peacefully at the Care Home in Worksop where he had been resident for some time. His next of kin and only known relative is his daughter in law.
I understand that Mr Oldham joined the Derbyshire Constabulary during the late 1950’s and before his retirement in approx. 1988 had served at Chesterfield and in the Operations Room at Force Headquarters. His funeral took place at 3.00pm on Thursday, 2nd March 2023 at Babworth Crematorium, Retford, Notts. Dave Ashley (Chair)

I am just reading the NARPO and read that ex Sgt 101 Oldham has passed away. I haven't seen Les for a number of years but Les together with Sgt 1 Ted Cresswell were one of the Section Sgt's at the old Chesterfield Police Station in July 1967. when I arrived at the Police station as a new bobby from training school at Pannal Ash Harrogate. He was on shift when I arrived, wondering what to expect. He was kind and put me at ease and together with Ted Cresswell the apprehension soon went away I think he was very genuine and a good ear.. I am sorry he has passe But with Ted He is still in my memory.
