It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 17th October 2023 of ex Sgt 29 Joseph Edward DRABBLE, 75 years, peacefully in hospital. His next of kin is his partner of 20 years, Ms. Anita Burley. Joe suffered with prostate cancer. He retired in 1997 having served in Derby, Chesterfield, Renishaw, Dronfield. He then became a part time Comms Aide at Chesterfield, where he had served as Sergeant.
His funeral took place on Wednesday 25th October 2023 at Chesterfield Crematorium. It was a direct cremation with only a small service for family, as per his wishes. Sean Murphy (Secretary)

Such a shock and so very very sad. Joe was one of the nicest blokes EVER to wear the uniform of the Derbyshire Constabulary. Even handed, fair and wise, he was a first rate ‘sarge’ to many scores of bobbies and no doubt an equally good PC before that.
