Vernon was a CID legend in Chesterfield East always willing to help out uniform colleagues. A great colleague.

I work with Vernon at Police headquarters Ripley Derbyshire sometime between 1980 and 1990. Vernon worked in high court section myself in the forensic. It was always a gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. I regret not knowing about Vernon‘s passing until today, four years later, but he made such an impression surely it’s worth me mentioning it now. Rest in peace my friend… You served the Derbyshire public well
