It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death yesterday morning, Thursday 11th February 2021, at the Park Farm Lodge Care Home, Kettlebrook, Tamworth, Staffs, of ex PC Frank William Shaw, 100 years, after a short stay in Hospital. Frank’s next of kin is his son, Mr. Glyn Shaw. Frank served in Buxton and on Traffic. In 1974 he was kidnapped whilst on traffic patrol duty in Buxton Town Centre, by an armed escapee from Broadmoor Prison and made to drive him to Blackpool where he handed himself in. Frank was unhurt. If you recall, Frank reached the ripe old age of 100 on the 23rd May 2020. The Chief, PCC and our Chair, Dave Ashley wrote to him congratulating him of reaching this milestone and Derbyshire NARPO made him a ‘Life Member’. 23/02/21 Frank's family have decided to have a Direct Cremation with no mourners. This will take place in the next fortnight and his ashes will be scattered in his boyhood haunts in Derbyshire.. Sean Murphy (Secretary)
