So sorry to hear of Barry's passing. We shared time together in H.Q. Training School where he tried (sometimes unsuccessfully) to be a steadying hand on we others of more exuberant youth. I recall a happy fortnight with Barry and Phil Bickerton at Plymouth Polytechnic on a video production course (those were the days!). Deepest sympathy to Monica and family.

Barry was always cheerful, professional and could always be relied upon to give sound advice. Many happy memories of time spent with Barry travelling from Chesterfield to HQ and back. Very sad to learn of his passing. Sincere condolences and thanks for a life well lived. Philip Carnall

Barry and I kept in touch regularly over the years and my wife and I visited a few weeks ago, when despite ill health he was in good spirits with a positive outlook to life and never once complaining. I would like to take this opportunity to mention the help and support given to Barry and Monica by John and Wendy VARDY . This was second to none and greatly appreciated by them. Barry was a true gentleman and capable Officer with an amazing sense of humour and wit. Farewell old friend and colleague. RIP.

I am very sorry to hear of Barry's passing. He accompanied me as Derbyshire Recruiting Officer, around the Country, on various Recruiting Visits. Barry visited me at my home, in Dorset some time ago and we spent a very enjoyable day together reminising of "Old Times" in the Training Department and our "Trips". My sincere condolences to Monica from myself and my wife, Jean.
