As a fledgling PC in the 80’s Frank ( along with his sidekick Paul Wilde) was the first custody Sgt. I met. Everything was “by the book” and whenever you brought a prisoner in every time he would say-“Now now then now then David what do we have here”-still remember it today. Although a little intimidating at first once he got to know you had a wicked sense of humour. I last saw him shortly after the death of his wife when he was playing golf. His loss had devastated him and he was quite tearful-not the Frank I remembered. RIP Frank you were well respected.

I knew Frank from my time at Chesterfield. He was a mild mannered likeable chap who was always immaculately turned out. He once told me he had the cleanest car in Derbyshire, and do you know what ? I think he had ! R.I.P Frank.

I served with Frank on Chesterfield Traffic and he was always the professional. Never an unkind word, always helpful and smart. Throughout our service we were always pleased to meet up and exchange reminiscences. No doubt Frank with be meeting up with Ray Clowes, Jim Gray, David Slater, Ken Campbell and Geoff Hollingworth and others to discuss old times. R.I.P. Frank a real gentleman.
