Insp Hipkiss came to assess me and my parents at our home in Duckmanton as part of the recruitment process in 1979. Can you believe that in this day and age?
Our paths didn’t cross again until 1985/90 when he had retired and was I/C at Robbo’s security.
Malc Beer, myself and a host of bobbies across all sections at ‘town’ were always welcomed by Ron, Ken Catton and the security lads, including Pete Roden. Kettle always on!
One of the old school. RIP Inspector.
