It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of retired PC Richard 'Dick' MARRIOTT, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday 24th March 2026. Dick who had moved to Kent following his retirement had been suffering with Dementia and had recently been living at the Cumberland Care Home, Herne Bay.
Richard's next of kin is his devoted wife Dianne Marriott and he leaves a son Robert and a daughter Joanna who also reside in Kent. Prior to joining the Derbyshire Constabulary in 1979, Richard had worked as an engineer and also served in the Territorial Army. He served at Shirebrook, Alfreton, South Normanton, Clay Cross, and at Ripley Police Headquarters. He retired after 30 years service in 2009. Details of Dick's funeral will be published when known.
