It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Tuesday 21st July 2026, having suffered a major heart attack earlier this month, of retired PC 922 Paul BROWN, 79 yrs. His next of kin is his wife Iris Brown. Paul and Iris had recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
Paul joined Derbyshire Constabulary in 1972 and retired at 55 years in 2002. Paul served in Derby Division and enjoyed his role on the Rural car operating from Littleover Police Office. He later worked in Derby Custody Suite. Paul's funeral has been arranged for 11.00am on Thursday 20th August 2026 at Markeaton Crematorium. Belinda Elliott (Derbys NARPO Committee)

I had privilege of working with Paul over many years - never saw him without a smile - condolences to family and friends - rest in peace my friend

I worked with Paul quite a lot in Derby Custody 20+ years ago. He was a good gaoler and a very likeable character. Always cheerful and positive.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Brown. He was the West rural car driver whilst I was the Hilton bobby. He would often call me to say " I'll pick you up". We would then covrer the area together.we would deal with anything that cropped up but mainly we would take the mickey out of each other and laugh the shift away. Happy days!

So sad to hear of Paul's passing. I too worked with him in Cotton Lane custody. In an environment that could be quite miserable he would lighten every shift with his sense of humour, yet remain totally professional.
