Martin joined Derbyshire Constabulary in January 1972 and served in Derby, Ripley, Heanor, Matlock and Headquarters in various roles and positions. He retired in 2003 as C/Superintendent. Martin was kind, witty and a great cop and boss. He was my Inspector at Matlock and our paths crossed several times after this. A gentleman and a good man. Very sad news.

Martin was my Sarge and Georgina was on my shift at Full Street. What a lovely couple they were. I am sorry that I missed his funeral but I did raise a glass to him that evening.
