It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on the 8th July 2026 of retired PC 1474 Keith MAY, 73yrs. His next of Kin is his wife, Christine May.
Keith who was originally from Evesham joined the Royal Marines at 16yrs with whom he served for 10 years before joining the Derbyshire Constabulary in 1980. Keith served in A Division at Long Eaton and later on the Road Traffic Department. He retired in May 2003 and went on to run a driving school and also conducted speed awareness courses. In 2009 Keith suffered a severe stroke which greatly affected his mobility and meant that he was unable to drive. Earlier this year Keith was diagnosed with a brain tumour after which his health deteriorated and following a period in the QMC Nottingham he passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends who were of great support to Keith throughout his illness. Keith's funeral has been arranged for 1.00pm on Tuesday 4th August 2026 at Bramcote Crematorium, Coventry Lane, Stapleford. Nottingham NG9 3GJ. Ian Louch (Chair Derbys NARPO)

I first knew Keith at Long Eaton and over the years our paths crossed in both our various guises. A good, solid bobby. Deepest sympathy to the family.

I first met Keith in September 1969, the day we both joined the Royal Marines. After 3 months we went our separate ways. Next time we met was 11 years later in Long Eaton's parade room with a faint glimmer of recognition.
