It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death on Thursday 7th November 2024 of ex Deputy Chief Constable Fred Theodore CHAMBERS OBE QPM, 92 years. His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Yvonne Chambers.
Fred joined Warwickshire Police before transferring to Leicestershire on promotion. In 1969 he transferred on promotion to Derbyshire, where he was stationed at Buxton as Chief Superintendent. In 1976 he transferred to Northumbria Police as Assistant Chief Constable and later as Deputy Chief Constable until his retirement. Fred is the Father of Mrs Dawn Gray whose husband is ex C/Insp Robin Gray. His funeral has been arranged for 12.30pm on Friday 29th November 2024 at Northumberland Woodland Burials & Crematorium Bockenfield Wood, Felton, Morpeth Northumberland NE65 9QJ.
