It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of ex Supt 642 Cyril John HICKMAN, 91years, in Hospital after a short stay, on Sunday 17th November 2024. His next of kin is his wife, Mrs Jean Hickman.
John as he was known was suffering from a terminal cancer but his death was unexpected, John served at Chesterfield, Buxton, Derby and lastly as Superintendent at Alfreton. He retired in about 1988. He was a member of the International Police Association and travelled on the continent frequently with them. He was also a member of NARPO and attended many functions. Ironically he was a good friend of ex C/Supt Trevor Kitchener and they were recently in Hospital and passed away with 4 days of each other. John's funeral has been arranged for 12.30pm on Thursday 12th December 2024 at Markeaton Crematorium and afterwards at the Grange, 457 Burton Road, Littleover, DE23 6FN. Sean Murphy (Secretary)
