The last Annual General Meeting was held at Force Headquarters on Sunday, 27th April 2008 and we were honoured by the presence of the Deputy Chief Constable, Alan Goodwin and his wife. The attendance was down on last year but again our friends from Leicester and Nottingham Branches attended.
After a sherry reception the meeting was held and chaired by our Chairman, Len Smith, who presented his 21st Annual Report. Malcolm North stood down as Secretary after 14 years and I was elected to follow in his footsteps as Branch Secretary, which I consider a great honour and I thank everyone for their support.
Also elected onto the committee was Gordon Lambourn who was in Firearms Section for many years. We wish him well on his appointment. The tea was prepared by three of the committee members wives, Margaret RODDIS, Ruth WATSON, Pat GREGORY and Margaret's daughter, Sarah, who was agreat help. The food was excellentand enyoyed by all. Unfortunately, Maureen Handford, a committee member who normally organises the tea was unable to attend owing to illness. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Hope to see you all soon.
Frank Gregory
Secretary
